Janine Aquino took over Camelot Cellars in 2011. Originally from the Hudson Valley area of New York, her family owned John Aquino Sons, Inc., making her a fourth generation wine professional. She grew up on the vineyard, worked at several of them, and studied food and wine parings at Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.
After spending many years in the Short North, the winery moved to Olde Towne East in 2016 for more space to accommodate for demand. The new location has 20 bar seats, comfortable seating for more than 50 people, and an interactive customer winemaking area. The surrounding community is a perfect fit for the locally made, wine-is-art vibe at Camelot.
Camelot Cellars opened in 2005 to a Bucyrus couple, and soon after a Canadian company bought it in 2008. While they winery did well there were no local connections to keep it going. In 2011 Janine Aquino was in Columbus consulting and saw it as an opportunity to turn it back to it's winery roots and make root here in the city.
