Hi! I’m Courtney, I’m new to Camelot and new to wine; so taking this job has been a HUGE learning experience to say the least. I think the hardest thing to learn so far has been all of the different types of wine that we make here in house (which is over 60 different varieties). Like did you know that the type of grape used in the wine is usually in the wine’s name? Mind blown. Or that the oaky-ness that you hear people talking about when it comes to wine actually refers to the oak barrels that the wine is made and aged in.
Our customers have been so amazingly welcoming and I love them for it. I’ve had so much fun learning to make wine and bottle wine with our customers. You can come into the winery and either make your own wine, which you would come back and bottle when it’s ready; or if you’re impatient like me you can come in and buy a batch from us and bottle it that day to take home with you. Both options come with custom labels for your wine. We also do custom labels for bottles that you just purchase for gifts and whatnot.
But my favorite part so far has been hosting our events and doing customer outreach. Did you know that we have drag queen bingo?! It’s glorious. Between the prizes, the live performances from the queens (check out our facebook, I posted videos), and proceeds from the event go to the victims of the Pulse Night Club shooting’s family members.
So thank you to all of our customers! I’ve loved getting to know each of you and look forward to learning more with y’all as we go through this together.
